Sarasvati Puja

Worship of Saraswati, goddess of learning, speech and the arts, at which books, instruments and implements are placed before her and left unused for the day. In the Navaratri sequence it falls on Purva Ashadha nakshatra; in eastern India the principal Saraswati Puja is instead held on Vasant Panchami.
