Parasuram Jayanti

Commemorates the appearance of Parashurama, the axe-wielding sixth avatara of Vishnu and the Brahmin-warrior son of Jamadagni and Renuka. Observed on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya of Vaishakha, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya, with fasting and worship particularly among Brahmin communities and in the Konkan and Kerala coast associated with him.
