Narasimha Jayanti

Celebrates the manifestation of Narasimha, the man-lion avatara of Vishnu who appeared at dusk to kill Hiranyakashipu and protect the devotee Prahlada. Kept on the Shukla Paksha Chaturdashi of Vaishakha with a day-long fast broken after the sunset worship, since the avatara appeared in the sandhya hour.
