Maghi

The Punjabi observance of the sun's entry into Makara, falling the day after Lohri and marking the first day of the month of Magh. Sikhs commemorate the forty Muktas who fell at Muktsar, with a major gathering there; in Nepal, Maghe Sankranti is a harvest and ritual-bathing festival.
