Kartikai Deepaam

The Tamil festival of lights observed when the Karthigai nakshatra coincides with the full moon of the Tamil month Karthigai, commemorating Shiva manifesting as an infinite column of fire. Homes light rows of lamps and a great beacon is lit atop Arunachala hill at Tiruvannamalai.
