Jamai Shashthi

A Bengali household observance on Jyeshtha Shukla Shashti when a mother-in-law honours her son-in-law with a ceremonial fan, thread on the wrist and an elaborate meal. It is one of the twelve monthly Shashthi vratas dedicated to the goddess Shashthi, protector of children.
