Engili Pula Bathukamma

The first day of Bathukamma, Telangana's nine-day festival of flowers, on the new moon before Sharad Navaratri. Women stack seasonal flowers such as tangedu and gunugu into a conical Bathukamma, gather in the evening to sing and circle it, and set it afloat on a pond or lake.
