Dhanurmasa Begin

The start of the month during which the sun transits Dhanu rashi, a period held especially sacred to Vishnu and observed with pre-dawn temple worship, Tiruppavai and Tiruvempavai recitation, and daily Dhanurmasa puja. Ordinary auspicious muhurtas such as marriages are avoided in this period.
