Annamacharya Jayanti

The birth anniversary of Tallapaka Annamacharya, the 15th-century Telugu saint-composer who wrote some thirty-two thousand sankirtanas in praise of Venkateshwara of Tirumala. It is observed on Vaishakha shukla Purnima with recitals of his kirtanas, principally at Tirupati.
