Aavani Moolam

Moola nakshatra in the Tamil month of Aavani, marking the day Shiva is said to have carried earth for Vandi Kondan and performed the sixty-four thiruvilaiyadal at Madurai. It is a principal festival day at the Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple, associated with Sundara Pandyan's coronation.
